I love reading books whose stories are relatable and have a touch of reality in them . Chandrika R Krishan\’s book \”Vignettes\”, true to it\’s title, has stories of everyday people leading ordinary lives. But what makes it special is that every story warms your heart and makes you think or smile; some even leave you with important questions. The stories are small and simple but the situations have a lived-in feel to them. The characters in these stories are wonderful because they reminded me that life is made up of many special moments of finding joy, inspiration and wisdom from people around us. There is old man with unusual love story, a septuagenarian with amazing resolve to help and a cook trying to fill in for his mentor; there are also an illustrious inspector and parents who take a stand for their daughter. But my favourite was a story revolving around the statue of a famous personality whose name we all remember but whose ideals have long been forgotten….
I also loved the artistic book cover.
A lovely collection of stories to brighten your day…
